News July 2010 - Closure of top section of River above Bailey Bridge Both banks of the River section above Bailey Bridge are now closed to members until further notice. We are having problems due to low oxygen levels, very high temperatures, very low water and the Barbel are spawingin AGAIN. As far as we know we have lost two double figure Barbel amd have yet to isolate the cause or causes. The Head Bailiff has discussed the problem with out landlord (LVRPA), the Fishery Manager Chairman and Treasurer and it was a collective decision by all concerned to close the top section. Signs have been posted. This has happened before in previous years under CEMEX and when we closed the water it was at a lower level than when CEMEX closed it. We just need for the current weather to break and for some steady rain to resolve the situation.  Both the Environment Agency and the LVRPA  are monitoring the dissolved oxygen levels in the area. Any changes will be posted on this website. Please check back for updates. 11th August 2010 - Top Section of River above Bailey Bridge Re-Opened!! The top section of the river has now reopened.
